Welcome to Soul Circle Yoga!
My yoga journey began in the early 2000’s with an on-site yoga class offered by my employer. I immediately pursued more opportunities to practice yoga and for community engagement. As I continued to explore various forms of yoga and meditation classes over the years, I rarely encountered other Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) or inclusive offerings for different body types and abilities. A deep desire to share the benefits of yoga and meditation with underrepresented/underserved people and communities led me to the Yoga Center Retreat (YCR) Teacher Training Program. My training includes 230-HR yoga teacher training (YTT), Chair YTT, Restorative YTT, Yoga for All teacher training and Meditation teacher training. I continue to actively work to provide opportunities for different body types, abilities and ethnicities to have equal access to practice yoga and meditation in safe and nurturing environments reflective of the collective global community.

4 WEEK SERIES - BEGINNER BIG A#%! FOR YOGIS IN LARGER BODIES "IN PERSON"
Want to try yoga and not be the only person in a larger body in the room? Want a compassionate teacher who offers variations that provide steadiness and comfort? Then the Big A#%! Yoga Beginner Series is especially for you! Taught by a body positive yoga teacher who specializes in adapting poses for larger legs, bellies and arms, this series combines gentle yoga with breathing exercises (pranayama) to reduce stress, increase strength and gain confidence in what your body can do. In this series you will learn yoga poses that stretch and strengthen, move your body joyfully and without judgement, foster the mind-body connection through breathing exercises and mindfulness, explore how yoga props can make poses more accessible, meet other yogis in larger bodies, laugh and have fun! The series can be taken multiple times as each session has a different focus or theme. Big A#%! Yoga drop-in classes, series and workshops are about exploring yoga in the body you have today. These offerings are not about intentional weight loss or how your body looks. Come practice yoga with our community of larger-bodied yogis in a safe space just for you.

BIG A#%! YOGA WORKSHOP: EXPLORING SUN SALUTATIONS FOR YOGIS IN LARGER BODIES "IN PERSON"
Sun salutations are typically performed at the beginning of a yoga routine as a warmup for the whole body. There are a few poses that may not feel steady or comfortable for yogis in larger bodies, who want to make sun salutations part of their practice. Taught by a body positive yoga teacher who specializes in adapting poses for larger legs, bellies and arms, this workshop explores sun salutation poses and accessible variations for yogis in larger bodies. In this workshop you will learn how to incorporate supportive tools (blocks, straps, blankets) to bring the floor up to you and create more space for your body. You will determine what movements feel good in your body, discover how to move joyfully and without judgement, foster the mind-body connection through breathing exercises and mindfulness, meet other yogis in larger bodies, laugh and have fun! Big A#%! Yoga drop-in classes, series and workshops are about exploring yoga in the body you have today. These offerings are not about intentional weight loss or how your body looks. Come practice yoga with our community of larger-bodied yogis in a safe space just for you.

Relax and Restore

If you are looking for a relaxing and restorative yoga practice, this is the class for you. Relax and Restore is a gentle yoga practice that is done entirely on the floor. Participants will move mindfully from one posture to another, at times holding poses for several minutes, and unite breath with movement. This class is suitable for all experience levels. Supportive tools (ex: pillows, blankets, bolsters, etc.) are encouraged.

Big A#%! is a gentle yoga class presented in a body positive and inclusive environment. All body types and levels of practice are welcome! This class is intentionally designed to bring yoga to those seeking to feel fully acknowledged, encouraged and supported in their yoga practice. A slower pace allows participants more time to focus on transitions, alignment, awareness and strength. Poses are held longer, breath work is synchronized with movement, and variations are offered with steadiness and comfort in mind.
